On 10 November, in the framework of the “CSI LAA focus Congress in Frankfurt”, a live case from the Hospital de Salamanca was retransmitted using the VIDAA platform for the planning of the intervention.
During the week prior to the congress, the VIDAA team worked closely with the Salamanca Hospital physician responsible for this intervention. Using the results provided by the platform, crucial decisions were made on the selection of the device, the size and the optimal position to ensure the best possible outcome. During the live case the device was placed in the same position that the VIDAA platform had suggested.
This helped to reduce the time of the intervention, which meant less radiation for the patient, and to avoid post-operative problems such as device related thrombus formation or embolisation of the device.
